A guide to buying a home in France

Expatica have published a short and useful guide to buying a property in France. I think they've summed it up rather well; ".....both daunting and tempting"! At least this is one thing we don't have to worry about in Paris:
"In the case of rural homes, this search should also determine if there are any other claims to the property, such as the neighbouring farmer's right, droit de passage, to drive his tractor across your land to his fields." Or worse, if you've read "A Year in the Merde" by Stephen Clarke you'll find out what happened when he bought an idyllic rural retreat.......
